Hey guys, I have just completed my first two years of CC and now am transferring to a UC. ALL my cc courses (which were mostly mostly sciences) are UC-transferable. I understand that some dental schools (like temple for example) do not accept CC credit. Now, does that mean they won't accept my UC-equivalent science credits or non-transferable course credits? Kind of confused on a what should be simple matter. Thankfully all the UC dents accept CC credits anyway but my back ups include some dents that dont.

Thanks in advance.

Well, one thing to remember is that many schools that say they don't accept CC credit are willing to bend their rules, I took all of my pre-reqs at my CC before I transfered (go go cypress college!), and I was accepted at a school that says they don't accept any CC credit. Though I do hear temple really has a sticking point about the CC issue.

Remember that the dental schools will see you as having taken the classes at the CC, and although your UC will see that as an equivalent class that they have, the dental schools won't see it that way.

In summary, it's a bit complex, some schools will accept the credit even though they say they won't, some schools won't take it at all, and all of the classes are seen as CC classes, not their UC equvilants.

Don't stress though, and good luck!

Hey thanks for the response, I am not fretting about it TOO much but it is one of those things...may I ask what school accepted you and your stats? BTW great job!
