So far I have 9 anesthesia and 4 TY interviews. My understanding is that 12 interviews is considered a safe number for anesthesia. However, I don't know how many prelim/TY interviews I should have. Also, I don't understand what the difference is between a prelim and TY year. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

TY year will give you more months of electives, i.e. it will be easier. Prelim can be in IM or Surgery possibly even in other specialties, but you'll have minimal months for electives.
