I'm currently a second year pharmacy student at one of the Top 5 Pharmacy Schools in the nation. I should be content with where I am, but for some reason, I've been having a lot of second thoughts about pursuing pharmacy as a profession. I've worked as a technician and intern in both hospital and retail pharmacies for the past 3 years, so maybe I'm just bored with working in a pharmacy altogether. I am currently 20 years old and if I continued with my pharmacy education, would be done by the time I am 23.
As of recently, I have been seriously thinking about becoming an MD. I currently work in a pharmacy at a Women's Hospital, and the field of obstetrics/gynecology really interests me.....so, my 2 choices are to 1) finish my PharmD degree and then apply to medical school after (although I'm not sure if my pharmacy degree would hinder or help my application), or 2) completely drop out of pharmacy school and finish a bachelor's degree (which would probably take me a year, even though the only requirement I'm missing for most med schools is Physics 2)...any input is appreciated!
