ok, i heard this a million times and i guess you heard it already. It makes sense to major in something that you enjoy, right? However, med school statistics show a higher increase with accepting science majors. What`s the deal? If I major in sociology or philosophy, am I less likely to become accepted because I`m not a science major? Or, with statistics in mind, is it more difficult for me to get into medical school as a non-science major?

where did you get those stats? if i'm not mistaken, the ratio of acceptance is actually HIGHER for non-science majors (although very slightly and possibly negligible). i'm pretty sure this is accepted fact. also, most med schools explicitly state that they show no preference for any major. in fact, some go as far as to encourage applicants with non-science majors. hope that helps..
