Contacting POI's for psyd programs

Hi everyone,

Quick question: I know it's encouraged to email POI's at clinical PhD programs (which I am doing this week), but I'm also applying to PsyD programs. Should I email POI's there as well? I wasn't sure, because I feel like fit with specific professors is somewhat less important at those programs.

This depends on the school. Though many Psy.D.'s don't engage their students in specific research labs, many have ongoing research labs where it would be ideal to connect with the PI to get a spot in the program. If you have Q's about this, PM me.
