contacting programs

Is it best to always contact the program coordinator first or the program director? I need to email all the programs I have not yet been rejected from to notify them regarding my election to AOA, but I also need to ask some programs about my application status, and I wasn't sure who the best person would be to contact.

Either is fine, although you're more likely to get a timely response from the program admin.
