Is there a proper way to contact schools that you were rejected from to see how to become a stronger applicant? I have contacted a few and they dont say much....and some never responded to my email.

Pretty much the same thing has happened to me. From what I take, if you can call and ask to set up an appointment of some sort, they're usually pretty receptive of it but they still don't end up saying much other than the cookie-cutter answers. So what I take from it is that I just have to make my app better in as many ways as I can and try again! Good luck

average number of applicants per school is ~2500...often adcoms have a hard time remembering why they accepted someone, let alone why they rejected him/her...

I met a couple of students who approached me and thanked me for getting them in UCSF (apparently I had interviewed them the previous year). But I have NO recollection of them...

Call and get an appointment. I did with my state school and they were helpful, although I decided to just take an out of state offer instead of reapplying. The main reason I called was because there is a spot on the secondary application asking if you contacted the school and how you improved your app if you were a reapplicant.
