I'm doing post-bacc work right now and I can already tell this is going to be one hell of a semester with my current load. I'm taking Bio2, Chem2, Pharmacology, and I decided to try to squeeze a spanish retake in(orig grade C-). My plans are to apply next year and I wanted to retake 2-3 courses to bump my GPA to a more comfortable status. I'm sitting on a 3.35 right now with a 4.0 science. Is it worth torturing myself with this?

If you can take it another time that won't affect you applying on time (early) then I would suggest doing that. You want to boost your GPA as much as possible and getting a C really doesn't do you a service for grade replacement IMO.

I'm sure you'll get other opinions here that are better. As I am not well versed in retaking courses.

Is this a formal post-bacc you are doing? If so, I would not advise taking any additional course than is necessary. You do not want to jeopardise your post-bacc GPAs with a relatively insignificant C- in Spanish. A stellar performance in post-bacc could potentially offset any GPA shortcomings in undergrad.

Probably not another great time to take it, hence my conundrum. I still have 22-26 credits of prereqs after this semester. I thought I could cruise through spanish, but it's really draining my time and obviously the other classes are much more important.

Nope, DIY. I don't want to take this course, but I feel like I need the GPA as close to 3.5 as possible. It's really now or most likely never for spanish.

Well it's not a prerequisite for any medical school. If you don't think you can get a B or higher I would drop it.

Bail on the retake and keep that sGPA at 4.0 100%. That will do more for your cycle than a 0.02 bump in cGPA

There is nothing wrong with a 3.35 cGPA, as long as your MCAT and sGPA are good. I agree with others in saying leave it alone and focus on the really important stuff.
