Any input as to which of the following would give the better training for core rotations? If given a choice between:
-a smaller county program with an unopposed FP program versus
-a large county program with 10-15 residencies
I'm leaning towards the former because of location, but i'm also thinking that with unopposed FP residents, there are no other services (ie fewer residents) to fight for procedures. at the same time, it is still a busy teaching atmosphere albeit smaller. i'm not sure about didactics.
At the larger program, there are still plenty of procedures to go around but scut aplenty and less teaching going on. the university affiliation is not as prestigious as the smaller hospital's (would it matter?).
Thanks
