According to last year's info, June 19th was the date when the last SDNer was offered a spot on the wait list. That date is analagous to tomorrow, Friday June 17th...so those of us still waiting are essentially moving into uncharted territory after tomorrow...which is not to say we won't still have a chance after tomorrow--it will just be much less likely.

BTW did I mention that of all the schools I applied to, my only chances for admission this fall are NYU or Cornell--I'm wait listed at both institutions and I have zero acceptances...so I hope this explains the frequency of posting I have engaged in over the past month or two! I only applied to one "fallback" non-top-ranked-school, where I was very confident of my chances and had very many connections, and I was rejected because of an interviewer whose first questions was "were you in a fraternity as an undergraduate?" So I'll say "good luck everyone" one more time in an effort to acquire some wait-list karma.

So I guess all is quiet on the Cornell WL thread--meaning it is perhaps grinding to a slow and steady death as it moves into a grim eterninty spent in the SDN archives. It will soon fade into the vaults of anonymity, it's contents read only by future Cornell wait-listers. They will seek dates of movements, prostrations of joy, and lost hopes of former, anonymous waitlisters.

For all they know these former posters could now be at other schools, or at Cornell, or on the cold gray streets of New York, wrapped in newspapers and begging for change. Perhaps one day a former wait-lister-turned-beggar will see Dr. Bardes rushing by in an overcoat and wingtips on his way to play bridge at the sportsmen's club on Lexington and 68th, and the wonderment will temporarily remove the clouds of plastic-bottle-brand whiskey from the beggar's eyes, re-awakening a forgetten past of wanton waiting in the slush and snow of a February evening. "Dr. Barr..." he might cry. But before his wind-chapped lips and whiskey-chapped mind can recall the full name "Bardes" he will soon forget, and slip once again--with this thread--into eterninty.

Ha ha...just being stupid since I still haven't gotten in.
🙁

Called Cornell Friday at 4:50 EST...Mrs. F said that the wait list was pretty static and that there currently aren't any open spots...any movement from here on out (if any more movement occurs) will be the random 1 seat here and there.

Hello everyone,

I don't know if anyone is even monitoring this thread anymore but I called the office of admission and they in fact have their 101 students. Movement from this point forward is very unlikely. I hope that everyone has found a place for themselves.
All the best!
