To anyone who knows or cares. . .should I give up hope on a Weill acceptance? I interviewed in early November and haven't gotten the acceptance email yet. Be honest, I can take it.
I wouldnt rule it out. While decisions started to go out on the 13th, they're still reviewing files and acceptances are still trickling out. There doesnt seem to be any concrete relationship between time of interview and acceptance. I along with the boy wonder got in on the first day of emails, but we interviewed at very different times (I in october, him in january I believe). Someone who interviewed in september got in several days later, and didnt even get emailed (i linked the cornell thread here). So, it seems like its still a possibility
You'll hear something for sure by the end of the month. Dont lose hope 😀
I totally feel you. I am in the exact same boat. Unfortunately all we can do is wait. I'm preparing for the worst, and trying to get excited about the other places I could be. While Cornell is still my first choice, the only thing I can do is wait and see. If it comes, that will be wonderful, and if it doesn't, I'm still going to be a doctor.
Although DW, I'd give my left arm and 2/3 of my big toe to be in your position right now 😀 congratulations!
hey ctil,
i'm also in the same situation. i interviewed in december and have yet to hear from cornell. i'm not sure if they are still sending out acceptances at this point, but i'm pretty certain that they haven't sent out their waitlists yet. i heard that cornell accepts quite a few people from the waitlist, so don't lose hope yet. easier said than done, i realize, but if it's of any comfort, i definitely feel your pain.
thanks for posting fava...i'll check my mailbox the next couple days to see...but at least it's not a flat out rejection...mine could very well be that 🙁
i'd type the letter out for you, but it's rather long. basically, it says that "the wait list is not ranked" so that applicants can be "re-reviewed when openings occur." then it goes on to talk about getting financial aid info in, so if you come off the list, you can get your package asap. that's about it. again, good luck everybody.
I still haven't heard anything. I'm pretty sure my acceptance email is in the pipeline, though. It takes a while for email to get from Manhattan to Chicago, right? 🙂)
