So since I can't concentrate enough to study knowing that my score is on some mail truck right now and I should be getting it tomorrow I decided to try and figure out this whole correlation thing. I dropped some of the data you guys have been posting into excel, plotted the graphs with trendlines and got some R-squared values. Granted this is a weak study b/c my sample size is 19 and not everyone posted every variable, but for what its worth here are the results

MCAT: R-sq = .4238
Q-bank final: R-sq = .6956
NBME (avg of the 2 for those who took both and just the single score for those that took one, one exception was a person who took one b4 studying and one after and did significantly better I just used the latter score here):
R-sq = .7047

Alex, nice work. As far as I've seen, the NBME paid exams have been the best (albeit not perfect) predictor for one's performance. The one glaring example has been tega (sorry man). In my case, the scores correlated perfect.

Let us know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

loool, dont remind me...im just getting over it
but i still advise all to take that nbme exam....really calmed me down.....

but im still hoping my dean had on the wrong glasses.....

Sample size = 70

R-squared for Qbank vs. Step 1 = .5173
R-squared for NBME vs. Step 1 = .7788

I wish we could get a break down on the different sections of the MCAT. How about PMing all the people to find out their breakdowns?? The writing samples, too, please. Thanks
