Could I 'volunteer' like this?

Could I teach my little neihbor kids piano and violin, and then have their parents sign volunteer reciepts (for lack of a better term). There would be no volunteer leader or anything just me and these kids parents on our words. Would colleges take this as valid volunteering?

Sure! You are still volunteering your time. It doesnt matter that there is no offiical organization and people telling you what to do or looking over you.The important thing is that you enjoy your volunteer work.

When you put it on your app you can just leave the contact info of the parents who can vouch for your time spent. Most schools won't check up on the things you put on your app so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Absolutely. I also suggest you look into other volunteer work as well (ex. Hospital, church, etc.) but anyway, yeah this is fine. The only thing I should mention is make sure you HAVE PROOF which was already mentioned, other than that you should be good. Also, its great that they are your neighbors because you can clock in lots of hours and you don't have to drive to the medical center, church, etc. like me 😀.

You don't need physical proof of your volunteer experiences. Just be ready to talk about them during an interview, and if you are like some other interviewees, be prepared to play violin/piano/etc during the interview.

You do not need hard proof. A phone number of someone to vouch for you and a few stories about what you did is enough.
