Looking for some input about how I should spend my last 3 weeks. Test on March 25th.

______

By the end of this week, I'll have done:

FA: Once through.

USMLEWorld Q-Bank: did it on tutor mode throughout my studying, did some questions 2-3 times, some questions only once. Haphazardly annotated FA.

Took 3 self-assessments:
School administered NBME in Dec, 207
2 weeks ago: NBME #5, 242
1 week ago: UWSA #1, 248

______

Things I haven't done:

Goljan audio: I listened to about 11 hours of it back in December. I should probably go through this once, while reading the transcriptions?

Goljan's book: too much info? worth a skim?

BRS physio: doesn't seem worth it? my physio's mostly fine.

Pharm: I hate pharm toxicities. I'm debating skimming Katzung and Trevor's Pharmacology Examination and Board review. That might be overkill? I could just stare at flashcares until it sticks?

Micro: I can never recognize pictures of the various rashes and pustules and things. What would help with this?

USMLERX Qbank: I like doing practice questions, which is why I zoomed through USMLEWorld qbank. I'm debating getting a 1 month subscription, but it might take so long that my time would be better spent on something else?

______

Thanks in advance for any input you guys have!

______

Edit: Planning to go through FA again for sure, reviewing the common associations and stuff, and taking 2-3 more assessments (UWSA #2, and NBME #6/7)

I would go through Goljan book and FA once again, for sure. Take 1 or 2 more assessments maybe.

At this time, going through Katzung and Trevor: Boards Review would be literally an overkill. Its too big book for a review. You can go through High-yield Drug List at the back of the book .. thats supposed to be very fruitful.

Go through First Aid. Eat it. 🙂 and take UWSA #2 and do all NBMEs if possible. Some questions, as per fellow test-takers, are directly repeated from NBMEs.

Is there a way to review your NBME test once you take it (so you can learn from the q's you get wrong, etc)

I couldn't figure out how to do it on the last one I took...

No, I don't believe there is any way to review INDIVIDUAL questions. If you pay the extra $10, it will tell you how many you missed within a specific subject/system. But it doesn't let you see the actual question.

Ugh, frustrating! On the last one, I used my leftover time at the end of each section to go to each of my marked questions, hit pause, and then look up the answer online or in FA. It was super inefficient and I wished there was a better way, but I guess there's not...

It seems pointless to spend 4 hours taking a NBME practice test if I can't even review my wrong answers / marked questions.

Some people have suggested taking screen shots of each question as they go through. Then, along with the extended feedback, you can look at each question and know what you missed and what you got right as well.
Taking screen shots is pretty easy. There are programs to download, or if you are a Mac user, you can set your screen shot hot keys to something super simple.

Also, I thought with the enhanced feedback you are able to look at the actual questions you missed, just not the questions you answered correctly.

I did the extended feedback for form 6, and they did tell me the questions I got wrong, but they did not give the correct answer. However, if you google the questions people have posted them on various forums with probable answers.

Thanks for the clarification.
