Yep, just want Feb 24 to quickly come and pass. March 18 can't come soon enough. Right now my anxiety scale is low but I have no doubt that it'll quickly rise come March 16 and then 18. What can one do ... just play the wait and see game.

calm now since rol has been done for weeks

march 15 is a pretty nerve inducing day for even the most overconfident of us... then it dips back down the 16th, starts to rise on 17th and hits fever pitch on the 18th.

what is the reason for the long delay between feb 24 and march 15. The ROL lists are all in and everything is computerized so why cant they tell people right away ?

Yeah, I know right! It takes like 5 freakin minutes to run the algorithim and BAM, match completed :sendoff:

It's probably some quality assurance crap they have to do similar to what they describe on the USMLE site as to why it takes so long to get your Step scores. I'm so over the waiting games and delayed gratification known as med school. I'll be 😴 and :hardy: till March 18th anyways since I'm basically done with all clinical responsibilties after this month 👍

their excuse-- frankly stupid, IMHO-- is that it takes three weeks to print out all the letters for applicants, programs and medical schools, seal them up in envelopes and mail them out.

They run the match algorithm three times to make sure there are no discrepancies in the data. It takes about 90 minutes per run. Computer people way smarter than I state that this means their equipment is old and busted because it should be orders of magnitude faster than that.

My Lord! I wrote computer programs in high school that could sort/match huge amounts of data in less than a minute!!! What are they running this thing on... a 386??? :smack:

Oh, nothing beats an old-school IBM diss.

so then I wonder, if anyone with someone on inside the NRMP can possibly look at the results already and know where they match or not and where they end up....
perhaps china is working right now to hack into it? jk
