Applied to 6 schools, had 2 interviews with one coming up in 2 weeks. The two schools I interviewed with so far really impressed me, much more than I thought they would. If I get into one school, I'll be more than happy
I applied to 11; was invited for 4 interviews. Already had UConn and Tufts and scheduled Touro for Dec and Nova for JanuaryReading all of these makes me wonder how many schools did everyone apply to?
Are schools able to see which schools you've applied to? Could that possible hurt your chance to get in? I am just curious... this is my first time applying and that was a concern of mine...
The 2017 "When EXACTLY will I find out about this school on Dec 1st" ThreadDoes anyone know exactly what times and in which ways we will hear from schools on December 1st? I know each school has a different way of contacting applicants (email or phone call) and all at different times. I'm just trying to be prepared so I can see the email or phone call the second it comes in, hoping that I do hear something December 1st. I applied and interviewed at mostly Southern schools (OU, LSU, Texas A&M, UT Memphis).
I am dropping the kids off at school and eating a quiet breakfast by myself. 😛 (And having a hot cup of coffee! Omg the number of times I’ve made a cup in the morning, only to have to heat it back up hours later... heaven)
I've got a bottle in the freezer that I've been saving for 6 years (the bottle is engraved, a gift from my sister). I told myself I wouldn't open it unless it was a special occasion. I can't think of any better reason to open it!!
I work for the Plastic Surgery department at a hospital in Boston and it turns out our holiday party is that night.. regardless of if I hear good or bad news, the open bar is currently on my mind
Taking a vacation... this cycle got me beat already.. Its been a long journey.
Thank God and then ask him to forgive me for the amount of liquor I'll be drinking that night
What is everyone doing to possibly celebrate?
It's my third... first interviews, though!!How many people here have applied more than once? I’ve seen some on here already that have... I’m a non traditional student and I Kinda freaking out... I’ll be 40 if I’m in class of 2022! Probably one of the oldest lol!

I've typed it a few times so I copied and pasted what I wrote before:If you don’t mind me asking, what was the issue the first two times? Congrats on the interviews this year!!! I hope you get the call 12-1!
Take a deep breath. First of all, if you don't get in it is not the end of the world. Reapplying sucks but it's worth it. Also, they know we're human! They are not looking for perfection, they're looking for personality and character. They might not have even noticed!!I can't wait to get this **** over with! It's been so stressful and I'm losing sleep over this process lol. I just have this feeling that I'll get bad news on Dec 1st. I messed up a couple of times during my interviews. I'll honestly crawl in a cave and cry to cope with the pain. Honestly, I would consider myself an ENORMOUS failure if I don't get in this cycle. I've been working hard for this goal ever since junior year of high school.
Who else is dreading Thanksgiving? I mean, I know for a fact the topic of conversation is going to be dental school admissions. Not in the mood for everyone's two cents.
The topic of conversation during dinner the past few days have only been dental school.... I cant seem to get off studentdoc lately. talk about stress. hahahWho else is dreading Thanksgiving? I refresh my email every 5 minutes hoping to get a post December interview just in case Dec. 1st ends up being a bust.anybody freaking out here because they don't have post Dec interview? I know there is still chances if I don't hear back Dec 1st, But I can't shake the feeling that Dec 1st is a matter of life of death because I don't have another interview to fall back to!
My email has been quite for so long I am loosing hopeI refresh my email every 5 minutes hoping to get a post December interview just in case Dec. 1st ends up being a bust.
I was under the impression that they were late giving out interviews?? I guess nvm.Since AADSAS completely changed their method of processing application starting this cycle, it seems like a lot of the schools gave out interviews considerably faster than any of the previous cycles. I'm kinda concerned because I feel like the majority of the schools are most likely going to be finished with giving out post-december interviews by mid-December~early January. A lot of the schools are already giving out post-december interivews to fill in January dates, or even February dates and it's only November right now lol. We'll see...
I'd posit that most schools can't send out post December interviews until they know how many of the applicants they accepted will enroll in their school. I'd assume, therefore, that after the first week of December many more interview requests will follow.Applied to 14 schools. Interviewed at Touro & Roseman. Rejected from Nova. Still waiting to hear back from 11 of the schools, so do me a favor and reject those schools on Dec 1. 😉
They don't have to accept you just because you interviewed pre-December and didn't hear back. They interview more candidates then compare everyone and decide who the best fit is. There are plenty of cases where someone who interviews in jan/feb will get accepted over someone who interviewed in September. What if schools waitlist some of their interviewees so that if some people who interviewed and got accepted drop their spots, the people who were on the waitlist will get those spots? Instead of the schools interviewing extra people. Because don't schools interview more applicants then they can accept to begin with anyways?

I’m sure they look at the upward trend! I downloaded the pdf from aadsas and all of your classes are listed in order... they’ll see you worked your bottom off!I've typed it a few times so I copied and pasted what I wrote before:
"2 Interviews this year, it's my third year applying and my first interview offers so I'm excited! I struggled straight out of high school and I didn't realize that for every class I had to retake, both the terrible grade and the good grade are included in the calculated GPA. There's an upward trend, but it's taking a lot of time and effort. It helps that the schools I applied to see progress!"
Basically, I'm currently trying to fix my GPA and hope they like what they see, based on the fact I got two interviews I'm sure it's helping!
I'm thankful for my first interviews in a long history of rejections and frustration. I know everyone is really worried about the chance that they might not hear good news next Friday, but remember you worked hard to get here. It is a huge accomplishment to be here.To everyone on this thread. This is a stressful time for us. Take tomorrow to be thankful for what we have.
Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy it.
