My most hated question is what my plan B is; I've already applied 3 times, what makes you think the plan will be any different?? Lol at this point I feel like other people care more than me....my dad woke me up this morning by saying "two more weeks until you find out about your future" smh makes me regret telling everyone about the Dec 1 date cause theyre making me more anxious lol I had resigned myself to thinking that whatever is best will happen

I've started saying, 'December 1st is the soonest I could hear back but I might not hear until August.' The responses are usually a mixture of shared angst and pity, but they stop asking after that!

honestly I'm going to be really freaked out if i hear nothing on Dec. 1st. I know plenty of people hear back like the 3rd or the 5th or so on but I need at least one place to contact me on the first or I'm going to be in panic mode.

6+ and still nervous. What I keep telling myself is:
1) Our fates have pretty much been decided by now and it's out of our hands at this point.
2) Everyone ends up going where they're meant to go, even if they don't find out 12/1.
Whether the above are true or not, I think it's comforting to believe in those two statements 🙂 Best of luck to everyone! Wishing you all the best in a couple weeks.

I completely agree! Also, it seemed that everyone at my interviews felt like everything went well, so I have no idea how it actually went.

I would just say that a lot of our interviews were early in the cycle. They're probably taking a higher proportion of people so it would make sense that many interviews are seen as favoribly-- the school is trying to make the candidates they like most feel welcome. Moreover, there are those who don't have successful interviews and just not talk about it. Take away the aninomity of sdn and you get a lot of people trying to save face.

The whole interview process is to screen out people who lack people skills. If you have issues holding a conversation, making eye contact, and coming off as genuine, the interview will make that known. Having any interviews at this point is a great start, as I have known plenty of current dental students who received their interview invitations in January and February. Like several individuals have mentioned already, December 1st is just the beginning. Those who have an interview at this point are seen as highly qualified applicants. Even having 1 interview is great because you only need 1 acceptance. We’re almost there!

I know this process is extremely taxing, but I just want y’all to know it will work out just fine. Whenever I catch myself freaking out about December 1st, I remember my friends from last cycle who got into the perfect schools for their personal situations several months AFTER December 1st. Were they freaking out before they got accepted? Sure. That being said, they couldn’t be happier now.

Although it’s nerve wrecking to countdown to December 1st, it’s an honor to have had an interview pre-December, even if it was only one. I’m sure chances of being accepted aren’t high since I’ve only interviewed at one school but hopes are still very high!

If any one knows, when do most schools send out post-dec invites? Have they already started or they begin sending those after December 1st?
