What would you say is the most difficult course you have taken in your undergrad career (aside from Gen biology, Gen Chem, Orgo and physics)?

Biochemistry. This was my only B in a science/math class.

mine in all honesty was Anatomy and Physiology, It was my very first science class and I had no idea how to study for it, came out with a B in the end, even though my test score from the mid point of the semester were all 90's and up the school I took it at only does 93-100 is an A, no dropped exams, and is done by adding points up instead of averaging, so essentially there was a 50 point window where you could score an a as a course grade I.e. you make a C on any test you cannot get an A. the damn community college I started at grades science classes harder than the University I am at now lol

The search function is awful. Use a Google search with site:studentdoctor.net included in the search box. Infinitely better than SDN's search functionality, plus google lets you sort by date etc.

Also going to second biochemistry btw.

I took a graduate-level Genetics class on DNA structure/function that was pretty nasty.

Also a grad-level French Enlightenment literature class - very interesting but by that point in my Senior semester I was totally checked out.

OP, I go to a small 2 year extension of my state school and I feel the exact same way you do. 93-100 is an A, and everything is based on points. I end up calculating what score I need to average on my exams in points to get an A. It nice to have an exact mark to get an A, but it is a pretty big pain in the arse. Everyone I've talked to that started at the extension and graduated from the state school said it's harder to get an A at the extension than at the state school haha.

To answer your original question, my hardest course in undergrad so far has been third semester german. The prof was HORRIBLE

I'm concerned that so many are saying biochemistry. Is it the volume of material or the material itself?

I personally liked it, but the most hated course at my school is immunology due to the volume of memorization needed. Its one people struggle with.

Histology. I never took anatomy and the class was predominantly composed of grad students. Let's just say I was the sole contributor to the +/- 30 curves.

Genetics, seriously I'm in a physics major and I hated that crap. Biochemistry is the porn of biology.

Real Analysis or Topology.

I think they would have been a lot easier if I attended lectures, took notes, studied. All I did was memorize the theorems and hope I could work things out in the 60 minutes I had to write tests.

Sigh

Topology is the absolute worst. This is a donut. Now it is a cup. Now, do mathemagic and tell me why.

Number Theory and Game Theory are the only mathematical subjects that were interesting for me. Learning about compact spaces and Cauchy Sequences has had no positive impact on my life.

I still audit game theory courses when I have the time. Literally my favorite topic in all of maths.

Loved biochem, hated molecular bio. I made the bare minimum A and promptly forgot everything I "learned." I wish I could take it again to see if it's as bad as I remember it.

A buddy of mine is doing his PhD thesis on Game Theory topics. Some of his research involves frequenting casinos.

Chaos Theory is pretty cool, I guess. I never got to take the class, it was cancelled my last year.

Biochem is really cool. It's just not a class you can really cram for (or at least it was the first class I couldn't cram for). It's a lot of material, but it's really interesting and manageable once you get the hang of it. Don't worry about it now!

To be honest, cell biology for me. It was an honor's class, and the very first day, the prof help up the book and said "Who has read this already?" Everyone but myself and 1 other student help up their hands. I didn't realize how many people did AP bio in high school.
