I had a question concerning course number consistency
For example, some medschools require Calculus 2

For some universities this is numbered Math 112
for some others it is numbered Math 142

This may be a dumb question, but I'm assuming it doesn't really matter??

Yea, it doesn't matter. Enter it on AMCAS exactly as it appears on your transcript.

what i am running in to is that when i took organic chemistry at penn state, it was Chem 034-Chem 038... a few years after I graduated, they changed the designation because it was a sophmore level course without the proper 200 level designation... so it became chem 210 and higher... so my transcript has what appears to be a non majors science course(<!00 level designation) for an organic chem class when today the exact same class is acknowledged as a sophmore level organic chem for majors...

no one cares about the course numbers... i doubt they even look at them after your app is verified. My gen chem course numbers are higher than my ochem ones.

That's why they ask you to put in the course title when filling out the AMCAS.

every university has a different numbering system... as long as the course you take is pretty much the equivalent of "second system calculus" it will work.

my understanding is that AMCAS will verify your course numbers as a certain class for you university when you submit it.
