Long story short, I have an F on my community college transcript that I am in the process of taking off. But it takes 4-6 weeks and I want to submit my app as soon as I can, so June 2. Once my transcript is updated with that class removed, will AMCAS reverify and recalculate my GPA and send that to medical schools?

Thank you for your help!
This is so stressful...

This is what is written regarding course work:
Coursework Changes
To address changes made by AMCAS to your Course Work during the Verification process, you must submit an Academic Change Request. The Academic Change Request is located in the vertical menu on the right side of the application. This option becomes available only after your application has completed the Verification process. Please allow at least five business days for AMCAS to review and/or process the Academic Change Request.

Please note that AMCAS will not change or correct:

  • Course names, titles, or numbers.
  • Updated grades and/or hours for the following type of courses that have been left off the application and did not appear on any official transcript at the time of processing:
    • Current and Future (CC)
    • Deferred Grade (DG)
    • Honor (H)
    • Incomplete (I)

Will they take the change into consideration if I send them an additional transcript?

They might but they might not. AMCAS verifies your GPAs and I seriously doubt a school would recalculate your GPA. How did you let this go so long and what makes you think they'll change the grade 4+ years later? How's the rest of your application? Why are you so worried about this one grade? Will it really impact your GPA so much? I really think that whole grade change thing is when AMCAS makes a mistake or figures something incorrectly. Not when you get a F removed from your transcript years later. But maybe I'm wrong. Be sure to let us know if you get the grade change.
