however.....

we give multiple vaccines to vulnerable populations. infants are such a population.

when you look at covid and pediatrics, the highest rate of pediatric death from covid are in those less than a year old. they are a vulnerable population.

In the study period, COVID-19 death rates in infants younger than 1 year were 4.3 deaths per 100 000 population, 0.6 per 100 000 in children aged 1 to 4 years, 0.4 per 100 000 in children aged 5 to 9 years, and 0.5 per 100 000 in children aged 10 to 14 years, increasing to 1.8 per 100 000 in those aged 15 to 19 years.

you can make a very cogent argument that the death rate is so low for those over 1 year old to not vaccinate. much harder to justify, with 8-10 time increased rate of death in the <1 year old group.
