Hey everyone,

So I have gotten more and more involved with a club that works with kids who suffer from cleft lip and palate and have fallen in love with wanting to help these kids. My question is if doing the 6-year OMFS route is truly necessary in order to get into this field. Is it even remotely possible to get into this field/fellowship without the 6-year? I have been fairly set on doing the 4-year due to personal matters.

Thanks

Possible, but harder. As an example, the IAOMS has a Fellowship Programme that is highly competitive to which you could apply after doing the residency. Check the link below. It is up to you to decide what is best for you. Cheers.
