I wanted to know if you could create your own medical school( US/ Canada based) what would the admission criteria be ?

Location/s ( you can have more than one if you want)?
Lowest GPA needed for admission?
Will you take the MCAT as means for admission? Can wave MCAT in lieu or other types of testing offered?
Special type of admission programs offered? Early Accepted, Linkage, SMP/Post bacc program,etc..?
Mission statement?
Lowest MCAT Accept?
Pre Reqs require for admission?
Bachelor degree needed for acceptance?
How long would you program last ( 3 Year, 4 Year, etc...)?
Would there be an accelerated program offered?
What would letter requirement? Number of letter and author types?
Would you accept international students?
How big would you class be?
How much would you charge for tuition?
Would you admit multiple classes ( Fall and Spring) ?
Would you use a holistic review process for applications?
Any other miscellaneous requirement?
When does the application cycle start? Application fee? When will interviews be offered?

1. Name:
Thunderdome Medical School

2. Funding:
Private school, with tuition paid for by switching out white coats with NASCAR-type jumpsuits cluttered with pharmaceutical brand names or, for that matter, any company that will make a donation!

3. Mission (Statement):
Applicants will be admitted based in part by how much they can bench. Do you even lift? Juicing is encouraged. This will save money on hiring security for affiliated hospitals, as M3-4 students will be able to dispatch and subdue any security threats with strong choke-holds. Applicants are also considered on TV show taste and some test we heard about this one time.

Bench press in lbs + MCAT x 10 + MCAT x 100 + (on a scale of 1-100 how much do you like the HBO show Game of Thrones?) = applicant score

4. Recruitment:

a.)Interview: The interview will be replaced with a Thunderdome in which applicants will engage in melee combat. 2 applicants enter, 1 applicant leaves. Studies show that bench press amount is highly correlated with how much you can crush the Thunderdome opponent and the STEP 1... computer.

b.) MCAT/GPA: Students who score below the 30th percentile will be mailed a special recruitment flyer to participate in the Thunderdome as special animal handlers during the wild animal attack portion of the Thunderdome.

c.) Primary: What EC's will you instruct AdComs to place major emphasis on:

d.) Secondary: The secondary will require applicants to send in videos of their extreme skills. Twerking is prohibited. These videos will then be aggregated into a promotional video for our recruitment use in ads that will air on SpikeTV during COPS marathons.

e.) What will be your admissions communications policies? Wat.
i) When will you start inviting students for interviews (how many dates?) Interviews will take place as often as the Thunderdome can allow. Applicants who want early consideration should impress the committee by arriving at the admissions office in a helicopter, preferably a weaponized one.
ii) How often will you communicate with students regarding their admission status? Never.
iii) How will you choose to reject applicants? How/will you reject Pre-interview/Post interview? Applicants will be rejected via humiliation. On clear days, their names will be written in smoke by pilots we hire to fly over major metropolitan areas.

f.) Will you choose to hold a second look day? Applicants will be so impressed we to not anticipate the need for a second look.

"SURVIVOR: Medical School Showdown"

-Basically every time you fail a test Indiana Jones -esque traps are activated.

-This will also help solve the obesity crisis since the fatties won't be able to outrun the giant boulder.

also rattlesnakes.

Location: the beach or a hip city with a suburb where I am at so I feel the noise wouldnt disturb during exam
Mcat: at and above 27 on old scale. Only used for interview consideration but otherwise the number shudnt matter, you're smart enough:hilarious:🙄
Gpa: arbitrary. Shud be compared to university and major's rigor but not to be below 3.3 :cigar:
Mission: to uphold kindness towards the ppl you work with, for, and to.
Curriculum: 1.5 yrs of lectuer and pbl curriculum. Early clinical involvement.

University of Wyoming Lane Frost School of Medicine.

No minimum GPA, but competitive GPAs will be expected, with a preference for ag. majors.

MCAT required, but waived for national championship rodeo athletes. Cutoff at 25 on the old scale.

Biggest plus of LFSOM, the multiple injuries your classmates suffer from such an odd sport will provide ample opportunity for early clinical experience.

Just some Ross University Wyoming Trivia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_University_School_of_Medicine
In the late 1990s, RUSM expressed interest in opening a new medical school in Casper, in the US state of Wyoming, but accreditation was denied by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, the organization that accredits MD-granting medical schools in the United States.[5] Some local individuals welcomed the economic impact of a new medical school on the town, but critics questioned the quality of education at a for-profit institution.[5]
Would a school in Casper require prospective students to take the CASPer?

Kamino School of Medicine

Only takes students with LizzyM 80+ but will literally take anyone with a LizzyM above 80. No limit on class size. No interviews or other requirements.

All lectures will be illegally stolen from live streams from all other medical schools from all over the world. Watch whatever you feel like.

Take Step 1 the day after you matriculate or keep paying tuition and never take it, ever. Who cares.

Clinicals must be arranged on your own, we don't want any students taking hand outs and learning how to acquire your own resources is a Life Skill (TM). We are an educational institution so we teach you those.

AOA will be determined by SDN likes to post ratio. Anyone who doesn't match Derm will be deleted from the med school's graduation list, records, and my bachelor party invite list.

Tuition is more expensive the poorer you are so that our students learn to live IN THE REAL WORLD. We don't give out merit scholarships since the only real merit is being ****ing loaded.

What makes our school special?

Having no physical location we are just an abstraction legally capable of collecting your money. We are happy to join other famous abstractions like your sex life and the number "2" before it went to rehab.

The Casper campus would train students in most of their first two years of basic science. Then Ross would fly them to Dominica to finish their studies.

The nation's medical school accrediting agency, the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, rejected Ross' request for accreditation, saying the agency looks only at full, four-year programs. But Ross said he thinks the agency is biased against for-profit schools.
"
Seems like they didnt care about the profit motive, rather having a full four years on US soil.
