Well i know this is a akward forum to place this thread in but could anyone recommend some good credit cards for college students?

I need to build my credit history.

Aslo does anyone here know any credit cards that does not require someone to cosign? What about credit cards for college students under 18?

Good idea. Get a school credit card and buy things and remember to pay. ROAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

I had to finance a motorcycle before anyone would give me a credit card. My first two years of college, as a young'n without credit, no card company would show me love.

Depends on what kind of a spending limit you are looking for. If you've never had a card, you shouldn't have a problem getting one, but don't be surprised if the max credit limit you can get is $1000. Anyways, I would suggest checking out what kinds of cards your bank offers...my bank is comerica, so I have a card from them, and I'm happy with it, never had any major problems. Of course, you've also gotta make sure you (or your parents, or someone) can come up with the money to pay the bill every month, or you'll end up in debt and with bad credit.....

i'm basically just looking for something w/ 500+ spending limit. 😀 Just really want to build up my credit.

Also i'm not keen on this APR interest thing.....
If i charge up 100 bucks on my credit card in july and the bill from the card company come back will it be 100 bucks or will there be an interest charge?

Try Citibank AA advantage.
Start building up your miles for med school interviews

i'm thinking about chase and citibank credit cards for students but i'm owrried that they won't accept applicants under 18.

Wells Fargo all the way! Great low interest, 500 beginning credit line that, when used properly, increses with time. I'm up to 2700 and that is way too much as it is.

I would try Citibank Platinum Select Dividend Card. You get anywhere from 1% to 5% cash back on your purchases.

yeah right now i'm considering chase and that city bank card.

Doyou think that i will need to get it cosigned since i cam under 18?

True! The Fargo is where it's at.

bankrate.com has a listing of credit cards by usage category and consumer type.

I was denied by a lot of credit cards at first because I had no credit history. The only card I was able to get was American Express for students.
You can apply for it on their website.

Your bill at the end of the month comes with just your balance. You're given a date by which you must pay. If you pay, you're not charged any interest, so no APR. You should pay it off each month. APR is crazy on student cards.

i've been using Amex Blue for Students.

it's pretty sleek. $500 limit to start with it. there's a rewards thing too, but the payback is minimal when you start (like 0.02% cashback or something like that).

Have you started college yet? When you do, you'll be deluged with credit card offers. They set up tables in front of the dining hall and on the quad. They give away T-shirts and let you enter drawings to win cars. It's nuts.

As long as you're going to be responsible with the card you can go with any of these offers. They have basically no requirements if you're a student (like you can put down $20/month income without a cosigner) although they'll give you a 20% APR and $500 credit limit. Just don't go over your limit, buy only what you can afford, and pay it off on time every month.

I don't know if you'll need a cosigner if you're under 18 or not - probably, since you can't be held liable for a contract on your own. On the other hand it's possible that they won't check. I'd ask.
