Hey it is good to see that I am not the only one on this forum going to Creighton. I won't see you until our sophomore year. I will be doing my freshman year in Pocatello, ID. Have you visited Omaha yet? I am thinking about visiting during my spring break.

Creighton does have a special agreement with Idaho and Utah. There will be 86 students in your class, but only 68 in Omaha your 1st year. That is because 10 will take their first year in Utah and 8 will take their first year in Idaho. Then 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years you will all be together at Creighton.

Really unless you're from Utah or Idaho, it's nothing you really have to worry about.

I just checked the Infosource website, and it was updated yesterday for me, listing me as waist listed.

Does anyone know how to find out where on the list I would be. I called Creighton U, today, but the person that keeps track of that was not there today. Are we privy to that sort of info?

Man I just got waitlisted too, on infosource. I called the office of admission, the secretary stated that as many as 10-15 applicants come off the list, but the wait list pool is huge. Crraaaaaaap! Also asked if the list was ranked, she stated that the list was not ranked. My question is how do they decide who comes off the list?

Thanks HD. I wonder how huge the list is??? What is a normal waiting list size? I had a friend who was waitlisted last year at a Canadian school and the list was 200 long! only 20 or so were taken off the list. best of luck everyone.

At least you folks know that you have been wait listed. MY infosource keeps updating, as far as the date, but it still says N/A under status, which sucks, since Creighton U is at the top of my list.

Oh yea, and they wont tell me anything over the phone!!!!!

Check out the website... plenty of info on the school.... tie that info with your desires for a dental school ... and put a good piece together... visiting the school is the best tho... thats how I got hooked on the school.

Hi. Don't know if this helps. I called Creighton today since I, too, was waitlisted. They told me that they have filled all their seats but that applicants are placed in a pool. I asked how they ranked the apps and they said they didn't... so I don't know how they select from the waitlist as seats open up. 😳

Why so many people???? I was also told that only about 10-15 actually get off the list.

I agree, if no one is ranked do they pull names out of a hat or have a computer program, similiar to the lottery, that randomly chooses names as spots open up.

I was told on the phone that they "re-review" each applicant on the waitlists as seats open up. Sounds like an unefficient use of time. But then again, they probably do have some sort of ranking system that they don't disclose to applicants.

Yeah, its takes extra long to get to Toronto 😀 . My letter was sent out on the 18th and I just received yesterday. Anyways, the 14 days notification period ends this friday the 4th (letter have to be post marked by that date). If you didnt recieve anything from them and your infosource says waitlisted, give them a ring.

We have our own professors and are never with the medical students. Weather is cold in winter and hot in summer like most places, but I would think that weather should be pretty low on your list of variables to determine what school to go to choose. But maybe not. Good luck.

That is correct, the letter you already have should tell you to send them your transcripts once you have them. Then they will prompt you to send in remaining deposit, and then you will be "officially accepted".

Don't let that confuse you guys, you are already accepted (as long as you don't drop out of school that is). Creighton is just weird about the wording.

Omahahahaha.... do you know what the grad rate is at Creighton? I mean... like do people drop out/get kicked out? Have you lost anybody in your class yet? Any idea about the upper classes... did they lose any freshman or worse yet drop out later on? I see their grad rate is very high, that's why I'm curious. With tuition what it is there I would hope their grad rate is high! Thanks bro!
