Interview in January
So people are already getting rejections and interview invitations? I'm still waiting to hear something-don't know if that's a good sign or a bad sign.

When did you submit your PharmCAS? I submitted mid-October, and received an email from Creighton saying that my application is complete and will be reviewed. I'm really freaking out over here!

My PharmCAS was submitted mid-September, but I did not actually finish filling out their secondary application until just before Halloween (was not overjoyed with writing the essay).

this bastar* school denied me a fe days ago and i meet their requirements. i mean theres still oct pcat, what if i get a 99 %?? i dont like this school at all bc they are too in a rush to deny students. i mean i could understand if my GPA were low and i had 0 experience but thats not true. i think the reason they deny so fast is bc they save alot of seats for their own students who dont need to take the pcat but just need to pass their clases with a B+ or so.
I'm in the P1 distance class there now, and none of us did our undergrad at Creighton. They don't hold seats; they look for the most qualified candiates for the school. I believe they also changed the requirement to having Creighton undergrads do the PCAT....or I remember some talk similar to that.

Perhaps it's more than GPA and PCAT. Meeting their reqs means nothing...that doesn't mean you automatically get an interview. It ironically seems that you are in a rush to condemn them, especially while speculating as to the reason of your denial.
I'm surprised Omnione hasn't said anything in defense of Creigton yet
i got an interview invite for february. i'm gonna go to omaha for the first time in my life!
If I were to go there, it would be on campus. It is unlikely though because I got in to a school closer to my family. I would like to see if I get in though cuz Creighton's a damn good school.

I go to Creighton undergrad and um yeah they definitely don't hold seats for their own students as long as "they get B+ and up" like someone said on here I believe. I know a couple CU undergrad with a 3.9 that got rejected.
On the website it says there's a "guaranteed admission" for CU undergrad as long as you meet certain criteria, but even the adcom says it really is not true, it's just to get people to go to CU undergrad. And they are not doing anymore starting for this year's undergrads.

I applied to the distance program, completed all my material by end of October. I just received an invitation to an interview in January.

I would think they'd have a hard time turning down anyone who met their stated criteria. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Hmmmm, is it possible that someone on the adcom was just pumping sunshine up your skirt, trying to be encouraging? If the school publishes criteriathat guarantee admission, they can't legally reject anyone who meets those criteria.

Yeah I said the adcom said themselves that- it's NOT true... obviously because some ppl with 3.9s at my school got rejected lol

Wow, another interview! Congratulations! Anyone else hear from Creighton yet? I am still waiting...

Yes, congrats!! I'm still waiting too. I don't like waiting. 🙁 I'm so freakin' nervous. My Pharmcas was mailed 11/5, and my supplemental was submitted 10/15 (or so...). I'm sure I'll hear something one way or another soon. I'm hoping it's "one way".
What is meant to be will be...
I'm know I'm a few days behind here, but I actually think the previous policy was not a "guaranteed admission", but a guaranteed interview and you didn't have to take the PCAT if all of your undergrad work was done at Creighton and you met other requirements (GPA, etc.).
Good luck to all - I'm sure you'll be hearing soon! And Happy Thanksgiving!

Is there some sort of pattern to their rejections/invites to interviews? I submitted my pharmcas in July and my Creighton supp in August and still haven't heard anything. The only thing I've received since was an email stating that they will be reviewing apps (or something like that). 😕
what is the tuition for creighton??? Is it just me...or is their newly renovated website realllly hard to navigate? They do not provide very much information at all..no tuition, FAQ, general information.... help!

There tuition is about 27000 a year!
I pay around $28,000 per year. They give a lot of financial aid well above and beyond the cost of attendance.
For the distance program (and probably campus, I would assume) they really look at emotional maturity of the applicants. They've actually told us that we are/were scored on it throughout the application process. It's a tough program in general, and a hair tougher not being on campus. The better they screen the applicants, the less work they have to do in the long run, as far as hand-holding, etc. when you're away from campus. Our average age is 31, with a range of 21-57. Campus class average age is 23.

I know this wasn't directed at me, but I have to say that I'm a little bit bitter. It wasn't entirely unexpected, but I was at least hoping for an interview. I don't have the flexibility as many of you on SDN to move away for school. (let me do this myself...
cheese please!). OK, I'm over it now.Hey all,
I got an interview invite like a week or two ago but I had to withdraw my application because I didn't realize I'd have to go to Nebraska to interview...
the plane ticket from nyc to nebraska is close to $600!
(I'd rather take a vacation...)😀

LMAO... that is a great emoticon. I wish you luck in getting other interviews.👍

You're kidding, right? Most places you have to travel to for interviews. That's too bad....once you get an interview, you have a 60% chance of being accepted, based on last year's stats.

wow..that would be a big gamble to me. good luck to you in ur home state! I wish I would have waited to apply to my home state school until after i got my new pcat score of 88... they interviewed me and put me on the unranked waitlist on nov. 7th... i dont think my pcat makes any difference now 🙁
I guess I should have mentioned I was already accepted to mcphs-worcester..so it wasnt just me giving up, I just would rather go to a 3 yr program than this one...I know it does suck that I wasted all that money..but thats life I guess...good luck to you all with your interviews! 🙂
can you apply to both the disance and campus program at creighton?
No, you have to choose one or the other.
Mike
