I'm currently a biomedical engineering major at Rutgers intending on applying to the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (#1 choice) at the end of this semester. I've just been really worried as to what my chances are of being accepted as I have a good DAT score but my GPA is sort of on the low side. I would really appreciate any advice on what to do to make my application more attractive.

My stats are:

Science GPA: 3.2
BCP: 3.3

DAT
AA: 24
TS: 23
PAT: 18
RC: 30

115+ Shadowing hours, along with volunteering work at my fraternity as well as a couple of health clubs here at Rutgers. Currently working on research for my senior design project as well as volunteering at a Hospital (RWJ).

Is there any advice as to what else I should do to boost my chances of being accepted??

Your gpa is a bit below average, but nothing terrible. Your stellar DAT score basically makes up for it.

Shadowing is good, but you can never have enough so more wouldn't hurt. Same with volunteering. Research also looks good on your application

So basically, just keep doing what you're doing right now. Plenty of people have gotten in with similar, or even lower, stats. Apply broadly and smartly, and you should be able to get into at least one school on top of having a pretty good shot with Rutgers
