Haven't seen this posted in the Step 2 part of the forum so thought I'd ask. Can any of you out there that have recently taken the CS (or have spoken to ppl that have) please tell me what I can expect on the day of the exam?
-how ppl tested together
-if you're booked for an AM time what time should you expect to be finished
-etc.

Also, I'm booked for my CS in Houston ans was wondering if anyone had anything to say about this particular testing site - i.e. quality of facilities, location/proximity to hotel, etc. Just wondering if I can expect to fly out that evening (booked for AM) or should I not chance it and stay an extra night in the hotel?

Thanks for any help.

I am not sure what you mean by what you can expect on exam day, but there are around 20-24 people who test together (divided into two groups). If you are booked for an AM time, you should probably finish around 3:30 PM or so, everyone finish together.

Nothing particular to say about the Houston site except that there is a hotel within walking distance of the test center, I believe it is called Clarion. There is a McDonald and Popye's within walking distance as well.

I flew out the same night, in fact my flight was booked for 6:05PM I think. You should have plenty of time to fly out that night. Assuming you finish 4:00 PM at the latest, you can probably get to the airport (Bush Intercontinental) around 4:30 PM (It's more like a 10-15 min drive, but 30 min just to be safe). This means you can probably book any flight after 5:30 PM. However, it would be safer probably to book flights after 6:00 PM just to be sure. Of course, I have to warn you that my approximation does not take any unexpected delays (such as unexpected testing center problems, crazy traffic jam...etc.) into account.

Unless you like to visit Houston or something, you probably would not get that much out of staying at the hotel an extra night.

Hope this helps.
