are the student cut-throat at any of the caribbean schools? or does everyone just want pass with a C?

Also, what kind of grading system do they use- letters, numbers?

Before I started Saba I thought I would rule the school with my knowledge and memory skills. I was soon humbled at the fact that most of my classmates were in fact stronger. As far as helping each other out, it really depends on the class your in. Our class always helped each other out and hoped everyone did well. That being said, Ive heard rumors that some of the other classes don't. If you understand that in the end if you work together you become stronger. Its really in your best interest to help each other out because it comes back to you like karma. When I first started Saba I really cared about getting straight A's. Now I can care less, my focus is 100% to do well on the Step1. At Saba we have a jacked up grading scale, 75-79=C, 80-89=B, 90+=A. I personally think the 75-79 sucks because it puts alot of added stress for some students that are "on the edge" of failing even though at most schools 70+ is a C and you can pass the course. I believe the thinking is to force us to work harder and do better and it does but it hurts students that might be weak in a particular subject. I believe we are the only school with this kind of grading scale. On top of that you cant miss many classes (max is 7) per term. Hope this helps
