I have a quick question regarding online courses and continuing ed courses. Is there any real benefit to putting these on your application? I've been taking some free courses from places like UC Irvine and John's Hopkins via Coursera, in addition to some emergency management / first responder CE courses via the department of homeland security. These courses are mostly for my own personal interest, but I was curious if they would have any real significance or would help benefit me at all in terms of my med school apps. Any thoughts, opinions, or experiences with this sort of thing?
