Our local Schnucks only does about 50 scripts a day and I've often wondered why they had a pharmacy. But I'm still saddened to see this.

CVS is like a cancer cell... they'll grow and grow until they sucked the life out of the host.

Caremark reimburses negative amount, then they take more away from you with DIR fees. Once pharmacy is about to bankrupt, they buy it out cheap. Once engulfed, CVS will enforce CVS policies and no one will want to work for them nor want to use them as a patient unless forced to. I swear this is worse than rape. This is how pharmacy profession has been coming to its demise. Soon, we will no longer have real pharmacies. Good luck, y'all.

If you work at a grocery store pharmacy it's only a matter of time. Why not beat the rush and join us as a CVS pharmacist today? We offer a lower salary, stores with the morale of a morgue, and the potential for crippling alcoholism.
I had the misfortune of joining Target the year CVS bought them out. I kid you not, it went from pharmacy heaven to a s#!thole in less than a minute...

Same thing to a guy I knew. Got hired when it was the plumb retail job to get, then the buyout was announced right when his license activated.

They ruined Omnicare too. I heard it was a great place to work, a hidden gem. Then CVS took over, applied a bunch of stupid metrics, cut the staff down to skeleton crew, deliveries were late which pissed off the nursing homes, they lost contracts and then had to lay people off.

Sounds about right. Like I said, cancer. Or a virus. Remember what agent Smith said to Morpheus while he was captured? That's exactly what CVS is haha

So random question: Schnucks has a residency program affiliated with STLCOP, how is that going to be affected? Did they match anyone for 2020-2012? What happens to those residents?

I'm sure CVS would love to hire temporary pharmacists at 1/3 the price!
I think they already are. No benefits. 6-9 months contracts. They'll hire you for perm position if one of the perms is not performing well. They'll eventually cut you for another desperate temp if you fall behind on your metrics. That's at least what's going on with my friends that work at CVS mail-order and MTMs.

Both of the Schnucks pharmacies in my town (one retail, one specialty) are closing as a result.
