I just want to know what the normal timeline is for interview invitations. I got most of the invites that I got within a month and a half of my application being complete (which was 9/8 or so, with the last invite coming on 10/18). Then there has been this huge lull in invitations (or perhaps that was just the end of it?) I have heard back from one more school (thankfully my top choice, finally) 11/12. Is this typical? Are there multiple cycles to the invitations (do they maybe send out a batch early, a middle batch and a late batch or something?) Or is this all just random and the "spurt" that I saw at the beginning was just a coincidence?

Yea, it varies a ton depending on the school. I don't think there are necessarily multiple "cycles." For more competitive applicants, I suspect a lot of schools will want to get to them as early as possible, so that they consider them more highly. For most applicants the schools either invite randomly or based on some criterion such as earliness, scores, proximity, and maybe a few other variables.

Depending on your application, some might be waiting for your fall 2010 grades too... i started getting interviews 2 months after i was complete...

Of course no one can be 100%, but if I was a betting man, I would say there are not batches of interview invites. Some schools tend to consistently send out invites on a certain day of the week, but you might want to check out the school specific threads to see if that is in fact the case.
