I took a full length exam every day during the week and a half before test day. I also went over every exam to learn from my mistakes. Not only did it show me how much I learned, it inceased my speed and confidence. By the time test day rolled around taking the real thing felt no different than the practice exams.

I don't know what practice exams you have been averaging 16 to 17 on, but if they are from Kaplan you should go up a point or two (at least this is what my experience showed--EXCEPT the PAT). If the exams you are taking are from TopScore, maybe you need to keep practicing a little. I felt my actual score came closest to the scores I was getting with TopScore.

Don't rush into taking the exam if you aren't ready. I imagine you are applying for 2006, so there is plenty of time for you to fully prepare and take the exam and still be early. I didn't take my exam till August but still filed my application in May--I felt like an early applicant.

Good luck!

Don't deny yourself sleep - getting a full nights rest, especially leading up to 'D-Day,' is very important. On the day of the test try to answer each question as quickly as possible as time is your enemy. Take deep breaths, remind yourself that in T minus four hours it will all be behind you, go out and celebrate afterwards as I am sure you will do better than what you are giving yourself credit for. Best of luck! 👍

I would wait and take the DAT in the summer. Study for the DAT in june without any undergrad stuff and then take the DAT maybe in july. That way the only thing you're focusing on is the DAT. Good luck!

That's good advice too - and oddly enough what I did as well. (why didn't I remember to mention that....).

april is way too early for dat i feel.. most normal folks take it in june-august.

Slim-

I agree with the above posters about just waiting it out till the summer to take the DAT. I'm actually in the same situation as you (applying for 2006), and originally I was planning on taking the DAT in April as well b/c of the reason(s) you posted. However, after thinking about it and talking with people that have experience, I decided to wait and take the DAT either late June or early July. You've gotta remember that even if you send your AADSAS stuff in the first day possible, it's still going to take them several weeks to get it processed and out the door, so you should be fine even if you take the DAT in the summer. Hope that helps. Whatever you decide for yourself, I wish you the best of luck!
