Enlighten me.

I know there are only 5 combined D.O./Ph.D programs in the nation - what are the 5 schools? Are any of you currently in these programs or have applied to these programs? Do applicants tend to have higher GPA/MCAT scores for the combined program, or are their credentials similar to those applying to the D.O. program only. I am very interested in biomedical research, and from what I have read, this would be a good option for me to look into. Thanks for the consideration.

I am also interested in this. Is this the same as MSTP? Do the DO/PhD have their tuition paid in full?

Are DO/PhD involved in the same kind of research as programs as MD/PhDs? How is having a DO reflects on your funding abilities, grants?

My apologies on assuming there were 5 programs.

This could be a very interesting time to do DO/PhD, given how little research has been done so far at DO schools. It'll be interesting to see how DO/PhD compares to MSTP, and if any DO schools are pushing to get funding for MSTP positions.

TCOM is the best funded with, what, a little over a million in NIH funds? I think Michigan is pretty solid as well.

I know that Nova is building a big huge research building and courting more funding. I was looking for Nova faculty who publish, and there's at least one prolific guy in the physiology department.

I predict that people will assume you mean OMM research when you ask about research at DO schools. I predict that will be annoying.
