D.O to shadow for recommendation

Hello there everyone,

I just moved to the country from Tunisia, North Africa to attend Osteopathic school (I did attend college in the states thought). I applied for the fall 2001. Here is my problems: I need a recommendation from a D.O but I do not have any contacts in this country. How do I go about getting a recommendation? Should I randomly go thru a directory and simply ask or what? ahh

I have received supplimentary documents from many schools and I seriously need a recommendation
I live in the san Francisco area and there are about 6 or so D.O's ...
any feed back would be appreciated

I've heard that in CA you can call Touro COM, and they may be able to recommend someone in your area. A few months back, I had the same problem, and a friend told me that you can calll/email Touro and they can help you. I live in Michigan, so the idea seemed unlikely, but I did anyway. They said they didn't know anyone in my area, and that they usually can help CA people. I'd give it a try.

Is it too late thought to build a relationship with the person that is to recommend you. I mean I do not know if a doctor will be willing to put his/her name on the ligne and recommend me. You know what I mean. I just feel discouraged. I really need a recommendation....
