Ok, now everyone is talking how application #'s are way up this year and that there is a surge in interest in the field of dentistry, does anyone see any logic in them making the DAT more difficult? The averages seem to go up each year, and with more competition, do you think there is a possiblily of this happening anytime soon? This is just a concern.

I don't think so. Although the MCAT seemed to be more difficult this year. What many schools may do, is raise there level of expectation with applicants. For example, the avg DAT this year may be an 18 or a 19 in one school, say UTSA. Maybe in 3-4 years the avg DAT turns out to be a 20-21. You never know how things can change so it is advisable in my opinion to take the DAT asap.
