Dating during residence

Why would a resident dating another resident be unprofessional?

OP said "another inter professional team" so I'm thinking this is more like nurse/PT/RT/Dietician crushing on a resident.

And to the OP - it's fine. It's not unprofessional. But the amount of thought you're giving to it makes it a little creepy. And yeah, using work email is probably not the greatest.

And residents have plenty to worry about, but that doesn't mean the normal part of their brain turns off. So if there was a spark/connection/whatever - they'll probably remember you.

Oh, I see now, I think I read "let's say you're a resident ..." and then at the end "is this a bad idea to contact a former resident ..." and mashed the two together. I think if a nurse/PT/RT/Dietician told a resident she was into him, he wouldn't mind at all. I say go for it, OP, as long as you feel comfortable doing the approaching.
