So I was talking to one of my vets this morning and he mentioned it would be more difficult for me to get into Davis as a non-trad because Davis prefers traditional-age students. Has anyone else heard this? Do they publish their age range of admitted students somewhere? Has anyone seen decrepit people like me in their 30s and 40s walking the halls at Davis?

I'd say that's ridiculous based solely on the make-up of my own class. I'll look for the actual stats, but we have some people in their 40s, I think, many in their 30s, and a lot in their upper 20s. So no, I'd say there is zero truth to that statement.

EDIT: OK, so this might not be as great as I had thought, but here's the stats on our class: http://www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu/studentprograms/class_2012/statistics_2012.pdf

To highlight, the age range is 20-45. And I think most of the people I associate with on a regular basis are 25-mid thirties, so it's not an insignificant number.

Thanks, VAgirl. I kind of thought he was full of it.

VA Girl is right. I'm over 30 as are several of my friends, and I know at least a couple classmates in their 40s. Our class is skewed kind of young as an average age; other classes seem to have an average age of 26-27.
