This thread is for discussing applications to the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in the 2024-2025 (class of 2029 hopefuls) cycle.
This is what I was told by the admissions committee:Does anyone know the prompt of the supplemental personal statement? Or at least what it has been in past years?
No not yet! I was starting to get worried about it too.Has anyone been sent the info to do the supp. app. yet? It was supposed to go out in mid-August
I've just received the email for the applicant portal which includes all the secondary application info I believe!Has anyone been sent the info to do the supp. app. yet? It was supposed to go out in mid-August
Same here I got mine as well on the 27thI've just received the email for the applicant portal which includes all the secondary application info I believe!
On your applicant portal, you can view the GPA being considered. I think the science and cumulative GPA is calculated by VMCAS while the last 45 is calculated by Davis. I am not sure how they look at retaken classes though.I am a uc davis undergraduate student and I’m wondering if they will go off the vmcas calculated GPAs or my gpa calculated through the university. My vmcas gpa is lower than the university one but I’m not sure which they will use, or how they look at classes retaken. Does anyone know?
Dang that means I’m kinda screwed it’s okOn your applicant portal, you can view the GPA being considered. I think the science and cumulative GPA is calculated by VMCAS while the last 45 is calculated by Davis. I am not sure how they look at retaken classes though.
Editing to add that I just found this: "Cumulative GPA: UC Davis and VMCAS include the original and repeated grade in all GPA calculations even if your college did not include the original grade in the overall calculation." This is on your applicant portal under GPAs.
Thank you I hope so!They use science and last 45 GPA to initially rank applicants so if you meet those requirements, I am sure you have a good chance!
