Hey everyone-

I have a quick question. What should I take with me the day of the DAT? The one thing I am particularly concerned with is the calculator b/c I still have not figured whether any of the sections allow use of a calculator; if so, what kind?

Thanks for the help!

no calculatur allowed.

bring two forms of identification, pencils and pens, and yourself. The rest will be provided I assume.

Bring Only 2 forms of ID. Nothing else .... not even pencil ...

The only thing they'll let you use is the Kaplan book ... nothing more .... just kidding LOL

This is the good one. They didn't even want to give me extra paper. They do not give scrap paper unless you return all 6. And of course no pencils or TI 83. 😀
Just bring some chocolat, and put your stuff (cell phone, wallet etc) away in the provided locker. They might take your fingerprints and picture depending where you take it.

AND GOOD LUCK

HAHA

I didn't know the DAT was an open book exam !!??

I hope you are not serious about the paper thing. I go through 15-20 sheets easy on taking a full DAT practice exam!!

bring 2 forms of ID, one with a signature.
bring a little snack, like a snickers bar for the 15 minute break. do not drink too much water before the exam.

like everyone said, do not bring a calculator. not allowed.
do not bring pencils or pens (pens aren't even allowed on the test). they provide you with pencils and scratch paper.

g'luck!

critter, its front and back so 6*2=12 pages

yes I know. I go through 15-20 front and back. But, I tend to waste alot of space, I just like to use fresh paper when I can. I guess its just a little quirck of mine. I will practice taking the last topscore exam with just 6 pieces. Thanks guys.

critter,

I think they'll give you more if you turn the other sheets in. At least that's how it was when I took it. Of course, unless it is your break, getting up to get more paper will cut into your test time.

Manual quoting.

That's exactly my point. They will give you more paper, however you must turn in your old ones and only if the old ones are written front and back. SO plan wisely on when you want to get paper. I did so several times, especially right before the the Math section. You'll have to raise your
hand and the proctor will appear.
Good luck to all of you.!

thanks for the information...

wow, I guess I really need to cut back on the number of scratch papers I go through

At any time (but better to wait til the break) you can ask for more scratch paper.

just make sure that when you do ask for paper, you do it during a break because your in different room from the proctor and they're watching you through a window, so you can waste valuable time by raising your hand
good luck!

agree. because you will need those papers.
i actually went to the bathroom twice during the test.
Just expect you will be nervous.
