Hello all. I'm sure others have been in this situation, but I can't seem to find any of the threads. I interviewed on 10/04 at Lecom and got accepted. They are giving me until 11/04 to give them 1500 dollars to hold my seat. Naturally, I got called last week to interview at DCOM, which I did today. Now, DCOM says that they will let me know ~11/07. Has anyone had any experience with asking a school (like LECOM) for an extension on the deposit money? After what I saw from DCOM today, I feel I would much rather go there than LECOM. However, I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket and risk LECOM is DCOM doesn't work out. Any advice floatin around out there? It's much appreciated.

I had "a little trouble putting the money together" when it came time to lay down a deposit. I bargained with the school and they allowed me to put down 50% which bought me another couple weeks. This might be your only route because I know a lot of schools won't give extensions just so you can try your options elsewhere.

This is awesome. You should do this. 👍

Perfect. I emailed them and asked whether I could put down "all I have now" (750) to save the seat and send the rest of it within the next few weeks.

Thanks you guys.

haha glad I could help! Best of luck with DCOM!

You could ask DCOM if there's anyway that they can notify you earlier. Some have been successful when they say they're on a deadline with another school. Schools know u apply to more than one school and they'll do their best to help you save some money too, especially if you're interested in their school.
