I'm going to need to take an extra year of school to finish all my pre-reqs because I decided to go to dental school a little later in my college years.

That means in my last semester of school I will still be taking my organic chemistry 122, and during the fall of my last year I will be taking Organic Chem 121.

I want to go to dental school the next fall after my last semester at my college. Which means I will still be taking organic chem 122.

I saw a couple of deadlines for admission that said Feburary of that year. That means I will have to apply without all my grades being in. Would that be okay?

That would also mean I will have to take the DAT before the deadline right?

That means I have to take the Dat before I even start to take organic chem 121. Since its recommended that you take it in Sept of the year you are applying too.

I really dont want to wait an extra year to apply, because I'm 21 now and I want to start dental school by the time I'm 23.

you can give DAT exam and submit the score .The prerequisites can be taken till you get admitted. Hope it helps.

the average age of someone going to dental school is 24 - 26.
So if you take an extra year everything will still be ok.

You can take the DAT before you take O-Chem, but it is not recommended at all, since there are 30 questions on O-Chem, and it would be hard to learn it all before taking the test.
Your best bet would be to take a year off between graduation and starting dental school, a lot of people do this. Finish up O-Chem the last semester of your senior year, while doing this prepare for the DAT, and take the DAT a few days after taking your finals so that the O-Chem will still be fresh in your mind, and apply for dental school that summer to matriculate the following year.

If you wait until February to apply to those schools with the latest deadlines you are pretty much just giving them your money, since all of the spots had been pretty much given out before then. The longer you wait to apply the chances of you getting into dental school drops to zer0. So apply in May or June of the year before you expect to enter dental school.

Dont rush it, you will become a dentist. It looks like you need to take a year off between graduating and entering dental school

23? 24? does it really make a difference? don't rush. yes plan ahead, but don't try to cram time. no matter what there are still only 24 hours a day and 364/5 days a year. take orgo, at least orgo I, and then take the DAT. plus late applications aren't usually the best way to assure a spot. It seems that applications in the summer are preferable, so I really don't think applying right before the deadline is advisable.
