You have already been accepted? Who cares what happens after that.

after my first acceptance i could have given a **** about any rejections. Sure it sucks to be told you arent good enough, but it doesnt even matter cuz someone else thought that you were good enough. Mission accomplished. You are going to be a doctor. Shed a tear for Duke and move on.

it's just that i really loved the school and found it really disappointing ... definitely put a big damper on my day

Hi chunkimunki,

I'm sorry to hear about your rejection. I suggest listening to "Peaceful Easy Feeling" by the Eagles. It always seems to take my mind off of stressful things.

Yea no doubt that would be dissapointing. But your feelings will subside. Yea it sucks right now but you'll move on eventually and hopefully be able to find happiness at the school you attend.

Use it as extra fuel when you are sweating it out in the future!
At least that's what Stanford has done for me (4 times) 😛

agreed. but i'm wondering... how did stanford reject you 4 times? how many times did you apply there? 😕

Make fun of the rejection letter in the "Golden Ding Awards" thread. Very therapeutic.

I just tell myself that I wouldn't have wanted to go to that school anyway. Sour grapes, maybe, but it so far it has worked perfectly for me. Once I get a rejection, I just forget about the school as if I had never applied.

Great idea. Haven't been rejected yet because I haven't applied yet. But what are you doing up this late? I agree with the fellow who suggests dulling the sorrows of rejection with some liquid fire - especially at this hour.

So the chick who looks fairly good said she'll go out with you, but the hottie turned you down...don't worry dude, you're still getting laid tonight. It's all good.

Have a couple of beers over the rejection, and then forget it ever happened.

Ah yes, women and alcohol can dull all imaginable pain and suffering.

why do you even have to "deal" with rejections if you have an acceptance? do you realize how many people would die just to be in your shoes?

After I got accepted, I couldn't help but laugh at ever rejection letter that came after that, especially today, when I got miami's "bourne identity" rejection letter:

"We are at the end of the admissions cycle for the 2009 entering class and I regret to inform you that we are terminating the application process with you."

how can you possibly NOT laugh at this rejection letter?

you've got an acceptance in hand, so life is good...

1. Take the rejection letter and crumble it up into a ball.
2. Write "pride" on the paper ball
3. Swallow your "pride"
4. Go and look in the mirror
5. Say to yourself "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, And gosh darnit - people like me"

Why is it that nowadays going out with someone is assumed to mean the same thing as having sex? Sheesh...slow down there, horny one :meanie:

A friend of mine framed his two rejections from his state school that he really wanted to attend. But he was accepted at a great private school during his second application cycle. He keeps the framed rejection letters from his state school above his desk and uses them as motivation when he studies. He is a fourth year med student, doing great, and planning to be an ortho surgeon.

My guess is that he will be on the faculty of his state med school someday.
