Hi guys I'm currently trying to decide between whether or not I should pursue a wet-lab/basic science research opportunity (on campus lab) or scribing opportunity (Scribe America) with my limited available time during the next semester. I'm planning on doing a post-bacc program on the couple years after I graduate then take the MCAT and apply.
My stats:
GPA: 3.3
MCAT: not yet taken
My Relevant Clinical & Research EC's:
Children's Hospital volunteer ~100hrs
Employed working with disabled students ~325hrs
Clinical Research Assistant ~500hrs
Medical Assistant (high school) ~400hrs
Behavioral Research Lab ~275hrs
I have the availability to do either but would like to do whatever will help improve my application the most. I personally am not a fan of bench research and would like to know if my current research is satisfactory for MD/DO programs and if pursuing the scribing opportunity would be more worth my time.
Thanks!
