I am a current astronomy major at my school. I've always loved astronomy and have a passion for it. However, I want to go to med school specializing in neurological sciences. My school does offer a neurobiological studies major. However, I wouldn't be able to take many astro courses with the neuro major. Should I change? Would this give me an edge in med school applications? Thanks.

Choose your major according to these rules:

-something you're interested in
-something you feel like you can do well in
-something that's academically rigorous

The third option is of less importance IMO than the other two. Choosing a major for the sake of trying to impress medical schools will result in no impressing and probably worse performance on your part.

repeat after me:

med schools do not care what you major in.
med schools do not care what you major in.
med schools do not care what you major in.

now, what have we learned?

Med schools only accept natural science majors?

I like talking about how huge everything is up there too 😀 but I bet once you get to the nitty gritty ****ty math it'll get pretty awful and you'll want to change majors
