Just wondering how many of us there are out there and what are odds are of receiving a "favorable" decision in March. From looking at the other BU thread, it seemed that they both accepted and rejected more people than I would have thought.

im sure you have heard this before but:

acceptances for approx 1/3 of the class are given out in january and the remaining acceptances are given out in march.

good luck!

Yeah, I just don't believe that only 60 people were accepted (the number floated on SDN) and I think a boatload of people were rejected post interview. Just trying to see who many are in limbo with me 🙂

well they said at our interview that about 350 are usually accepted in total to fill the class. maybe they gave out a third of those acceptances, meaning closer to 100?

I'm on deferred decision as well.

Well, they interviewed around 700 students from Oct - Dec. They probably gave out around 100 acceptances this past January. But I don't know how many people that they deferred or rejected. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if they rejected 300 of the interviewees, but I can't be sure.....

Regardless, there's around 250 acceptances up for grabs in March. The number of people left competing for these spots should at least be around 600 people IMO (which includes the second batch of interviewees). It could be around a 40-50% chance at getting accepted.

Deferred till March. On this thread till March.

Deferred till March.

Do you guys recommend sending any new recommendation letters or LOI etc? Does that help with BU?

IDK. I sent them a letter of interest a week after I was deferred. I hadn't sent them anything before that, nor had I written the "Why BU" essay on my secondary.
