This may seem a little strange, but does anyone know if it is possible to delay an acceptance to medical school by a year. I have heard that some places, if you are accepted, will allow you to enroll in the fall of '08 rather than '07. Can anyone confirm this???????????????

Specfically PCOM

If you have a good reason to do so, most schools will grant you. I do not know about PCOM. COMP allows for 1 year of deferral while CCOM did not allow deferral unless it was for medical reasons.

PCOM has been giving deferrals lately because of high yields. I don't think its a general policy to allow them.

i think if you have a very good reason for a deferral (ie: completion of research, completion of a degree, medical reasons, etc)..a school should grant you the delayed matriculation
