kbb is the worst test prep of all time for the reason you mentioned above. soooo many f'ng errors i almost lit it on fire right on my table. i think mine is sitting somewhere in the nearest landfill.

I took the 2012 KBB online test today. I don't know if it was just me, but my chem/o-chem scores were significantly lower than some of the other tests I have been taking.
I feel as if Kaplan purposely increases the difficulty of their exams to get you to take their class.

And yeah KBB is terrible. I have only used it for Bio so far but it is TERRIBLE at explaining things (I have the 2010 version so it at least has less errors.) It will often have key vocab words in bold and then not even describe what they are. Might as well use wikipedia. Cliffs AP bio is great and so worth it for $10. I have been getting through 3 to 4 chapters of Cliffs a day just because it is so much easier to understand and it is easier to push on when stuff is making sense. If some of the chapters are your weak areas try outlining those ones. I did this with plants photosystems and it helped a lot and plus it makes a nice outline for you to review.

I only used KBB sparingly. But I would definitely recommend all the other popular DAT-prep materials like Chad's vids, destroyers, etc...
As for the practice tests, ADA 07, ADA 09, Achiever, and Topscore should prepare you really well for the DAT. My scores for Topscore were the most indicative of my DAT scores so maybe you could use a friend's computer or something to do those tests.
p.s. maybe you can record the game and watch it when you have some time to spare.. after a long day of studying hardddd haha. I'm sure all you hard work will be paid off with great DAT scores.. good luck!

As far as the destroyer goes, please don't get discouraged if you find yourself struggling on your first run. Everything will come to you as you solve the problems over and over again (I started to feel comfortable on my 3rd run through GC section 😎).
I just looked up the free ADA 2007 DAT. It only has one passage for RC... so you can't really simulate a full 4 hours and 15 minutes that DAT brings to the table. I can't quite remember if ADA 09 is a full test (I pretty sure it is), but in any case I would definitely get it just so I can practice and do the the only full length test that is given out by the ADA (the same association that conducts the DAT 😎).
Funny you are discussing the errors in KBB and mentioned Cliffs.
I have been going through Cliffs for about 3 weeks and chapter 3 cellular respiration was bothering me, specifically figure 4-2.
So to make a long story short I did a little digging today and compared my Bio text to figure 4-2 and Cliffs is definitely dead wrong. Basically I crossed out the entireity of Cliffs figure 4-2 and told myself to review the diagrams in my Bio text for mitochondria and where cellular respiration takes place.
Despite this (1) error I have identified (so far)...I do very much like Cliffs Bio. There is something magical about the way it has been compiled and written. Of course it is concise, but the information has been condensed in an efficient AND useful way which reinforces systematic thinking.👍
Cristae not accounted for, nor are the pores in the outer membrane or the carrier proteins in the inner membrane. The two diagrams of fig 4-2 are dead wrong in their crudeness/ vulgarity in this respect. Oversimplified to the point of being misleading.
That said, I am approx. 2/3rds through Cliffs and this is the only glaring error and ommission I have identified thus far. I think Cliffs is great overall 👍
It seems to be correct in that diagram, minus the fact that they don't label any cytochromes. Cristae are accounted for in the small image right above figure 4-2. I agree that they should have labeled the coenzyme Q, and maybe shown cytochromes, but I think everything else is in detail enough for the DAT.
