I have elected to abandon this discussion for now.

SDN Community,
As a member of the Paul L. Foster class of 2020 I feel it is my moral as well as ethical obligation to bring to the attention of the wider medical community the ongoing abuse of student funds. The funds in question were acquired by the school through the direct billing of students for tuition and fees as well as through donations to the school by the community.
Without going into too much detail, these funds were secured with the explicit purpose of being apportioned for student graduation. Because of the ongoing medical crisis, naturally, graduations have been reasonably suspended across the country in an effort to curtail the progression of any possible outbreaks. Given the suspensions, the school made it known that the acquired funding was to be reapportioned to the students as a sort of graduation refund in the form of a gift. As the crisis worsened, the school abruptly decided that the students as well as community donors were to receive absolutely nothing despite being forcibly billed for such things. When questioned by student government representatives, Dr. Richard Lange (our school president) has continuously refused to explain what has happened to that money though quite directly says that it's gone and there is nothing we can do about it. I kid you not he as well as our provost (a Dr. Paul Ogden who looks a little too much like a Newt Gingrich stunt double) told us to stop crying about the situation and to just "move on."
In essence, community donors donated money to fund events that never happened and students were billed for services they never received and that money was spent on who knows what. I find the entire situation alarming and worry that this type of behavior is rampant across the country. To be taken advantage of like this during a medical crisis is simply wrong, certainly unethical and possibly criminal. Would anyone suggest a route of action to take? I have been considering filing a complaint with the department of education but don't know how useful that is. Thanks for reading.
Name and shame my friend.I'm sorry. Our class similarly asked our admin about funds and they also said "the money is gone"
This is very typical med school admin/faculty behavior. I don't know why, but it seems like they universally think they can get away with anything they wish.
Cue the damage control suck up shill med student/probable undercover admin.I go to this school and half or more of what this person wrote is BS or they misunderstood completely
We are trying to get money from them but to go as far as accusing of a crime etc. blows my mind
I agree I am also very pissed off and disappointed but this post is full of inaccuracies. Many of us are working to at least be heard by admin. I don't think they're gonna do anything at all or that we shall see any funding but whoever this is undercut us completely from at least getting heard and put up some sort of fight and demand before we went down and used insults and lots and lots of inaccuracies. The school never made it known that any funds either donations or apportioned funds were gonna be given back in any way shape or form. That is what we absolutely want but to say they did that is an utter lie. Furthermore to go an insult the provost of the school yeah that really buys us credibility in this fight right?Cue the damage control suck up shill med student/probable undercover admin.
OP this is pretty standard. There is nothing you can do. Welcome to the machine.
