Denied re-instatement (non-academic)

Hi Everyone,

Seeking some advice! I was accepted to a T30 medical school in 2020 but withdrew after the first week of classes due to family health issues and the covid-19 pandemic. I recently petitioned for re-instatement to return to medical school this year but was denied. How would one go about re-applying at this stage?

Any tips or advice from folks who have gone through a similar process would be most appreciated!

What have you been doing over the last 5 years? If you have been keeping up with clinical work, volunteering, etc. you can probably just prep for and retake the MCAT and apply straight away.

Mainly working in the research field but have not been volunteering

I'm assuming you're not just applying to that school again.

I think you'll have to start up with the volunteering and clinical work again. Some recent shadowing would be good too.

Considering you dropped very early, I think you have to start over and apply again, including an MCAT retake. You must get back into shadowing and community service before applying.
